Prior to opening my State Farm Insurance Agency, I worked as a manager at Amazon. Before that, I served in the United States Army and earned the rank of Captain. I'm also a graduate of Michigan State University. I’ve learned through my experience in the military that if you don’t take care of those you’re in charge of, then nothing else matters. • Be ready if your battery dies. Cold weather takes its toll on car batteries. Double-check to make sure you've got jumper cables in your trunk. You never know when an easy jump-start could save you time and hassle — or when you could use it to help someone else.

• Keep a blanket or additional warm clothes in your car in case you break down or get stuck. You do not want to be stranded and get cold.

• If you have roadside assistance on your insurance policy, be sure to have that number saved for immediate assistance. If you are unaware that you have roadside coverage, be sure to check with your insurance agent.
